Bintulu Port And Its Malaysian LNG Fleets

MISC Bhd is the largest single owner and operator of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers in the world. It has come a long way since the delivery of the first shipment of LNG from Bintulu to Japan since 1983, from an initial fleet of five vessels under the 'Tenaga" series, now it has expanded to 29 fleets of LNG Tanker Carriers.(wikipedia,2010)

Bintulu Port is the only export gateway for Malaysia’s biggest export earner, liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced from the Central Luconia field, off the Bintulu coast with the capacity to handle 23 million tones annually with its 3 LNG jetty. (MOT, 2004). As I have been attached to Bintulu Port as my place of Industrial training, I've been exposure and give some chance to going onboard to our proud Larger Fleet Vessel. Here I share some vessels that always enter Bintulu Port.

Inilah antara kapal-kapal LNG yang sentiasa memasuki Bintulu Port. Salah satu kapal yang pernah saya naiki bersama Pilot Bintulu Port adalah Puteri Delima 1. Ingat orang pompuan tak boleh ke naik Pilot Ladder....Pilot Ladder tu, bukan nya ikut jetty. Bayangkan berapa tinggi freeboard kapal tu kalau sebelum loading. Memang betul la kata-kata orang, kalau berada di atas kapal LNG ne memang tahap Hotel 5 Bintang la. Kalau diberi peluang naik semula kapal-kapal nie memang aku sanggup, tapi kaki masih getar juga la masa panjat pilot ladder tu.
